- It’s not light. It feels pretty weighty in your hand.
- The screen is stunning, and it’s 1024 x 768. Feels just like a huge iPhone in your hands.
- The speed of the CPU is something to be marveled at. It is blazingly fast from what we can tell. Webpages loaded up super fast, and scrolling was without a hiccup. Moving into and out of apps was a breeze. Everything flew.
- There’s no multitasking at all. It’s a real disappointment. All this power and very little you can do with it at once. No multitasking means no streaming Pandora when you’re working in Pages… you can figure it out. It’s a real setback for this device.
- The ebook implementation is about as close as you can get to reading without a stack of bound paper in your hand. The visual stuff really helps flesh out the experience. It may be just for show, but it counts here.
- No camera. None, nada. Zip. No video conferencing here folks. Hell, it doesn’t have an SMS app!
- It’s running iPhone OS 3.2.
- The keyboard is good, not great. Not quite as responsive as it looked in the demos.
- No Flash confirmed.

A bit about me while I’m thinking of it…
- I am 28 years old. I’d like to stop aging now.
- The quick passing of time worries me.
- I can’t imagine not being with my partner.
- I spend as much time as I can drawing.
- I spend more time thinking about drawing than actually doing it.
- I love rock/metal music but it depends on my mood.
- I live and work in the same town at the moment.
- I dont live where I grew up but enjoy visiting.
- I really enjoy spending time alone with my partner.
- I think too much but not always when it matters.

After seeing Avatar (brilliant BTW) and checking its position on IMDB’s Top 250 list, I was amazed to find a lot of very new films infiltrating the ranks of the much thought of classics. I’m trying to decide whether this is simply because they are new – in which case they are at the fore-front of peoples mind when voting on their top 250, or because a large minority of films being produced today are in fact the best films ever created? Below I give you the the Top 100 so you can make up your own mind.
Please note this is not my own Top 100 but that created by the regular voters of the IMDB community.
- The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
- The Godfather (1972)
- The Godfather: Part II (1974)
- Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo. (1966)
- Pulp Fiction (1994)
- Schindler’s List (1993)
- 12 Angry Men (1957)
- One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (1975)
- The Dark Knight (2008)
- Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back (1980)

Wow! Today I had 62 pageviews on deviantART for one of my latest illustrations! Thats the most I’ve had in one day. Whoop!
I was worried I wasn’t making an impact on there but I can see that as my style develops I’m slowly attracting more people to click my work and see what I’m all about.
…Either that or a lot of people out there have some weird thing for cats…

Mobile phone use could protect against Alzheimer’s and even reverse the disease, new research suggests.
Tests using mice suggest waves from mobile phones could reverse Alzheimer’s
Scientists cured mice with the disease by exposing them to the electromagnetic waves produced by the devices.
Sticky brain deposits of a harmful protein linked to the condition were erased and the animals’ thinking ability and memory returned to normal levels.
For the experiment, scientists placed the animals in cages arranged around a centrally located antenna generating the phone signal.
If exposure began when the Alzheimer’s-prone mice were young adults – prior to any signs of memory impairment – their mental abilities were protected.
Tests on mice
The mice continued to perform as well on tests measuring memory and thinking skills as animals without dementia.
Older Alzheimer’s mice already affected by the disease lost their memory impairment.
Translated to humans, the tests suggest that it would take years for constant use of mobile phones to have a similar effect.
But the US researchers believe exposure to mobile phone-type electromagnetic radiation could be an effective drug-free way to prevent and treat Alzheimer’s.
Professor Gary Arendash, from the University of South Florida’s Alzheimer’s Disease Research Centre, led the study published in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease.
He said: “It surprised us to find that cell phone exposure, begun in early adulthood, protects the memory of mice otherwise destined to develop Alzheimer’s symptoms.
“It was even more astonishing that the electromagnetic waves generated by cell phones actually reversed memory impairment in old Alzheimer’s mice.”

Google has unveiled its new smartphone in a direct challenge to the Apple iPhone.
The Nexus One "pushes the limits of what’s possible on a smart phone"
The tech giant billed the Nexus One as a "superphone" and the next step in the evolution of its Android software.
Google worked with Taiwanese electronics firm HTC to make the touch-screen device.
"I think you will see it pushes the limits of what’s possible on a smart phone," HTC chief executive Peter Chou said.
"It is very thin and feels good in your hand."
Google engineer Erick Tseng said the Nexus One handsets are no thicker than pencils and no heavier than a Swiss Army knife keyring.
"It is a great marriage of form and function. It is really light," he said.
Tseng added that the new phones are built on the same Android 2.1 software that runs Droid smartphones but feature innovations such as 3D graphics.
Google said it is also launching its own online store, from which the Nexus One can be bought "unlocked" for $529 (£330).
It will ship devices to buyers in Singapore, Hong Kong and Britain, it said.
But if customers in the US buy the handset with a T-Mobile contract, the price starts at $179 (£111).
Google said its European customers should be able to use a Nexus One with a Vodafone contract by the middle of the year.

OK I’ve been wound up already this year with the following:
1. Louise & Jamie Redknapp advertising Thomas Cook – They would never holiday with that company unless they were being paid a LOT of money.
2. Post Office advert – No post Office I’ve ever been to has been staffed with people as friendly as the ones on the ad, or has the office itself looked as nice and new.
3. Facebook – Its always impossible to log in these days due to ‘site maintenance’.
4. YouTube – The best and worse place on the net. Some astoundingly beautiful films by very talented artists… and then there’s the absolute shit. Also what’s with the arseholes who go on there just to neg out anything and everything they see?
5. Perez Hilton – I don’t understand how people like Perez Hilton can end up at the AMA’s after hosting a petty blog? (I see the irony of me saying this during a blogged rant, but I do have a point… Also I only have two ‘members’ so no one will see this anyway.)
