Google Android + Rocket = ?
Friday, July 30th, 2010What happens when you strap a Nexus One to a rocket with 1,000lbs of thrust and throw it up 28,000 feet in the sky? The first such launch didn’t go so well, with the rocket suffering a ballistic return. The second flight was rather more successful, and the video results can be seen below – captured by the phone itself!
Bunny Sugar Lumps
Thursday, July 22nd, 2010
I’m reposting this from Girly Bubble on behalf of Sarah
Oh NOOOOOOOOOOOO! Poor bunny! These little bunny shaped sugar lumps are so precious they should be in a stop-motion animated feature about the dreary malaise of living in the modern world. In the end of course they would meet their inevitable fate, being dunked in coffee for the edification of sadistic cuteitarians. But isn’t it worth it? Aren’t we worth it, slogging through this life, searching high and low for cute? We deserve to have cuteness be a part of our everyday routine, and if that means sacrificing a few sugar bunnies along the way, so be it.
I stress the above was NOT written by me!
Apple ‘Antennagate’ Explained By Taiwanese
Monday, July 19th, 2010Perhaps Steve Jobs will wish he’d used a Taiwanese production company rather than Chinese Foxconn for the iPhone4 after this piece of CGI genius.

Monday, July 19th, 2010Designer Of The Week: Jony Ive
Sunday, July 18th, 2010With all the scrutiny Apple have received over the last three weeks, I thought it apt to highlight one of the many reasons that consumers will continue to use Apple products once the dark clouds of ‘Antennagate’ clear.

Jonathan "Jony" Paul Ive, CBE (born February 1967) is an English designer and the Senior Vice President of Industrial Design at Apple Inc. He is internationally renowned as the principal designer of the iMac, aluminum and titanium PowerBook G4, MacBook, unibody MacBook Pro, iPod, iPhone, and iPad.
In short: One cool dude.
I’d like to add that Apple have always been at the forefront of technology and design, and that one small antenna issue should not be allowed to harm a company which has pioneered not only home computing, personal media access, and cellular phone possibilities; but also CGI animation (namely ensuring the survival and success of Pixar).
People are fickle, the media love a witch hunt, and humans are naturally attracted to highlighting the failures of others. But they all get over it!
iPhone 4 Recall?
Thursday, July 15th, 2010
Apple have announced today that they will be holding a press conference regarding the iPhone 4 Antenna issue. It will be at 6pm GMT on Friday 16th July. This comes after the now infamous news that the antenna issue is a hardware fault and not a software issue as previously indicated by Apple. Stay tuned…
UK Debt 5 Times Worse
Wednesday, July 14th, 2010The UK’s national debt is now £5 Trillion, 5 times worse than originally feared. That equates to £200,000 per household. I think it’s time to close the ports, cut ties with Europe and pull out of other peoples battles. If we can’t support ourselves, we shouldn’t be trying to support others. The greater good rules. Sod the rest. (Obviously we need to maintain trade links and natural resources.)
