    Solar Powered Windmill

    My 30th birthday came and went. It seemed to get swallowed up with my moving home, although I still had a lovely day (Side note: Mission Impossible 4 is probably the best from the franchise).
    I’m now living in a proper house with my partner so I’m realising quickly I’ll have to adapt from the apartment lifestyle I’ve been used to since 2004/5. I’ve got STAIRS! What’s that all about?

    As usual I didn’t really know what I wanted for my birthday so I asked that people just buy me something that I don’t have, don’t need, but might like. Some good presents came from this so I think I’ll keep it going for next year.
    One of my favourite presents can be seen in the photo above. A DIY solar powered kit. A bit like Lego but more fiddly, with the practical bonus that I can just leave it running all day. I chose from six options to build a wind turbine. The dog wagging its tail and spinning aeroplane just didn’t cut it :)

    Not much art work done at the moment although I’ve become a big fan of Roobarb and Custard illustrations by Bob Godfrey.

    I’ve begun mimicking the style just for drawing practice. I quite enjoy the simplicity.

    Also the style reminds me of the style used by Colin Whittock who creates comic style illustrations for Private Eye, AQuarterOf, and The Beano; to name but a few.
