This project stems from an interest in urban space and iconography. I investigated how contemporary urban images can portray a modern feel to the medieval Seven Deadly Sins, first written by Pope Gregory the Great. Using city life as a basis, I collected a series of images that updated the original meanings of the sins to fit modern life, while at the same time striving to stay away from stereotypical imagery seen in films such as Se7en. The choice of using photography was purely a personal interest, however it has unintentionaly added a realism to the images that gives them much greater depth and relevence.
