I found the following illustration by Hugleikur Dagsson on Reddit and decided to repost. Bizarrely, it reminded me of two things Freddie Wong tweeted earlier today:
Basically what this says is most people will only protest for the things that directly affect them. The other stuff will be a half-arsed attempt to look good without having to put any major effort into it. I draw similarities to those people who install Apps in Facebook that add Poppies to Avatars, but whom dont get their arse out of bed on Remembrance Sunday.

I just discovered Sergey Larenkov and he is extremely talented and incredibly patient.
The basics of what he does is research old photos from historic moments, visit where the picture was taken, and retake the modern day equivalent. He then merges the two together seamlessly.
I find them quite haunting yet incredibly poignient. It reminds us not to take for granted what so many others suffered for.

Jon Stewart:
Maybe we should always show pictures. Bin Laden, pictures of our wounded service people, pictures of maimed innocent civilians. We can only make decisions about war if we see what war actually is — and not as a video game where bodies quickly disappear leaving behind a shiny gold coin.

The UK’s national debt is now £5 Trillion, 5 times worse than originally feared. That equates to £200,000 per household. I think it’s time to close the ports, cut ties with Europe and pull out of other peoples battles. If we can’t support ourselves, we shouldn’t be trying to support others. The greater good rules. Sod the rest. (Obviously we need to maintain trade links and natural resources.)

Allow me to introduce you to possibly the most frightening piece of technology to emerge from the Cold War.
This is an Ekranoplan. It was designed by the USSR as a vehicle that had both land, sea capabilities. The idea behind it was that the huge engines created a cushion of air below it (similar to a Hovercraft but without the skirt) which it could then use to move around at tremendous speeds.
Luckily the Russian government decided not to back it due to cost.
Mentioned recently in the James Bond novel ‘Devil May Care’ when an Ekranoplan is used as part of an attempted terrorist attack on the Soviet Union. The Ekranoplan is destroyed by RAF Vulcan Bombers.

Bought it, played it, finished it.
A quality game which has come out on top of its predecessor guns blazing, and has the best dialogue yet.Sometimes terrifying, sometimes laugh-out-loud funny!
If you haven’t already, go get it!
